ROBINIA

Robinia

Very durable

Robinia belongs to sustainability class 1 and is therefore one of the most sustainable

wood species known in Europe. As a result, robinia has a lifespan of more than 25 years

where it does not require treatment. This makes robinia very suitable for fencing,

gates, poles, climbing equipment and shade cloths. When robinia does not come into contact with

bottom soil, the lifespan is many years longer. Also for contact with the earth is necessary

robinia should not be treated.

Due to its hardness, robinia is one of the heaviest European woods available. because of this

the wood contains a very high breaking strength, which is accompanied by a high form of

elasticity and wear resistance. Robinia is virtually the only type of wood in Europe that does not rot.

Characteristics

Robinia is wood which is characterized by a more capricious appearance that is accompanied by

curves and irregularities. The robinia posts are not milled, which means that every post is

has its own unique look. Due to the structure, splintering is virtually non-existent.

In addition, it is possible to buy peeled or peeled sanded posts. When peeled

piles, the bark of the tree trunk is peeled off. The natural shape remains natural

preserved as much as possible.

With a sanded post, a peeled post is sanded extra smooth. This leads to

make sure that it is completely splinter-free, which makes the posts ideal for e.g

climbing equipment or shade cloths.

Robinia wood is generally light yellow-green to brown-green in color. After

over time it will turn to golden brown due to sunlight and eventually turn gray.

The piles do not need to be treated. These are originally protected against

weathering, making them maintenance-free.

Applications

The peeled and sanded posts are extremely suitable due to their strength and durability

for, for example, play and climbing equipment. Of course you want the chance of splinter formation

keep them as small as possible and robinia posts are very suitable for this.

In addition, due to the soft and robust appearance, these posts are often used for

supporting a shade or sunshade.
